During its meeting in Gdańsk on 27th September 2011 the Euroregion Baltic Executive Board adopted the Position Paper on the implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region thus providing an important input to the ongoing revision process of the Strategy and the upcoming Second EUSBSR Annual Forum.
The main conclusion of the document is that the Strategy should be improved to ensure its successful implementation but the changes should not be fundamental as it is too early to draw conclusion on its long-term potential. Also, any major review of the Strategy should be the subject fo an open consultation with the stakeholders in the region.
Divided into three main parts, the Position Paper presents ERB opinion on the current positive experience from the implementation of the Strategy, while listing some concrete proposals to improve its future implementation and proposing new flagship projects to be included in the EUSBSR Action Plan.
