The Polish Institute of International Affairs has recently published a short analysis of the current implementation of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.
The first part of the document investigates the most significant weaknesses and flaws of the Strategy concerning its structure, unclear objectives, inadequate financing and opaque governance. In the second part the author describes some of the key challenges facing the Strategy during the current revision process including the need for enhanced interoperability, better involvement of the European Commission, revision of goals and measures, as well as the problem of funding.
