The 2010 conference of the Baltic Sea Region Programme entitled “The Power of the Baltic Sea macro-region” was held in Jyväskylä, Finland between 30th November – 1st December 2010 with more than 300 participants in attendance.
The discussion on the first day of the Conference focused on macro-regional strategies and future Cohesion Policy with Finland’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr Mauri Pekkarinen delivering the opening statement. The fourth call for project applications was officialy launched during the second day of the Conference. To encourage future applicants, several ongoing projects, including flagship projects of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, presented examples of their achievements. Finally, the researchers from Belarus and Russia presented the benefits of their participation in transnational cooperation. The summary of the Conference can be viewed here.
