One year after adopting the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, the European Commission has issued the first report on its implementation.
The draft of the report was first presented to the stakeholders for comments at the Annual Forum of the Strategy which was held in Tallin, Estonia in October 2010. Following further consultations within the EU institutions, the final version will be presented to the EUSBSR High-Level Group in December 2010. The Report summarises the progress achieved during the first year of the implementation phase, outlines lessons learnt in the process, and also identifies next steps to be taken in the future implementation of the Strategy. The main document is supplemented by five annexes which elaborate on the progress within each Priority Area, Action and Flagship Project, issues concerning the aligment of funding, the governance of the Strategy, relations with the non-EU Member States, and implementation of the Integrated Maritime Policy.
