The Council celebrated the tenth anniversary of Euroregion Baltic at its special gathering in Elbląg, Poland. This Council meeting was the first in a series of events marking the anniversary which will be held throughout 2008 around the Baltic Sea and Europe.
More than 80 participants attended the special session of the ERB Council that took place on 22nd February 2008 in Elbląg, Poland, ten years after the Agreement establishing Euroregion Baltic was signed. The participators included members of the Polish Parliament, the chair people of the regional boards in the ERB member countries, mayors and heads of the regional administrations and ERB secretariats, as well as by representatives of the media. Mr Bogdan Borusewicz, Speaker of the Polish Senate was the special guest at the celebrations which were highlighted not only by contributions from the politicians but also by the excellent performance of classical music composed by the authors from around the ERB member countries delivered by the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Sopot and conducted by Mr Wojciech Rajski.
